The Full Moon in Gemini is exact overnight, at 1:02am PST. The Sun in Sagittarius has us in the conscious awareness of higher truth. It is an interesting conundrum when considering truth when you realize there is no such thing. There is my truth. There’s yours. There is an objective truth. The trouble is that you don’t know my truth, I don’t know yours, and that elusive objective truth, well, no one can see that but the Divine. Sagittarius knows this, and understands that expanding and accumulating knowledge and wisdom leads to a life of greater abundance. This is why Sag rules education, travel, other cultures, as well as learning, growing, and most importantly, spiritual seeking. Ruled by Jupiter, this sign is the consciousness through which manifestation works, where we are capable of creating and generating unlimited abundance in all forms.
But remember that life and embodiment is a game of perception. Through our mind, we see the world we are in, and it is our mind that starts the process of manifestation by expressing the thoughts of our desires. But the human 3-D mind is also riddled with fear, doubt, unworthiness, and other limiting thoughts. Our inner shame and unhealed wounds have a tether from them, directly to our perceptive mind. We see the world not as it is, but as we are. This is an invention of Gemini, one of the rulers of Mercury, who is governing this Full Moon.
All Full Moons are a moment of unconscious release, and Mercury is retrograde, so he is visiting the unconscious right now, and has been for this entire lunar cycle. Never far from the Sun, he is also in Sagittarius, so the backward, inner journey that our thinking minds have been on for the last 2-½ weeks has been governed by Jupiter. We are rewiring our thinking and perception to be more aligned with hopeful possibility, and Jupiternian expansion. As the Full Moon hits, Mercury is stationed at 6-degrees of Sag, and 12 hours later at 1:00pm PST, Mercury goes direct. This is like Jack Horner pulling a plumb out of his Christmas pie (I am dating myself with that reference). Indeed, the release of limiting thoughts in this Full Moon has not only the complete cooperation of Mercury, but the timing is also elegant.
Mars retrograde is Opposing Pluto and Venus right now, so we are also in deep consideration of all the ways we must transform our physical realities and how we embody our consciousness, thank you Pluto. Mars in an Opposition with Venus touches our passions and tells us we desire to be more fulfilled in relationship dynamics and our ability to give and receive love. Please know that Mars’s much longer retrograde may delay the integration that is being established in this lunar cycle. Next spring Mercury and Venus will also go through a simultaneous retrograde, and along with all the other major shifts that 2025 will bring, by summer when the other outer planets change signs, we will also be profoundly transformed, mind, heart, and body. It’s like we are being prepared for bigger things, because we are.
All Oppositions are challenging by nature; it’s a geometry that forces something to occur. Any planet that divides the 180-degree angle into a Trine and a Sextile is called an Easy Opposition. Healing and unconscious release are almost synonymous, and Chiron forming an Easy Opposition with the Full Moon puts the alchemical magic of the Great Healer right into the mix, and combines the principle of healing with letting things go from the unconscious. Meanwhile, in Opposition to Chiron is Black Moon Lilith in Libra doing the same Easy Opposition with the Sun and the Moon. So, while a healing journey and shadow work is never really “easy,” the presence of Chiron and Black Moon Lilith means that all the deep healing and shadow work we’re up to is being easily integrated into how we walk our talk with this Full Moon.
Saturn and Jupiter are in a loose Square that is making this entire turn of the year difficult as there is a fight between structure and responsibility on one hand, and the desire for more expansion on the other. Things get built by Squares, but the sensation can be one of struggle. Jupiter is in Gemini, so he is governed by Mercury this year, as is this Full Moon. Part of what you can focus on in terms of what to release can certainly connect to the struggle between the important and the interesting. We need to be equally adept at both, and Saturn wants to make sure that if we want something to expand and grow, we are willing to do the foundational work to make that possible.
The Sun and Uranus are in an exact Inconjunct during the Full Moon, so we are aware and prepared for fast changes, and unexpected shifts in consciousness with this fork in the road geometry. Pluto has been in Aquarius for less than a month, and already huge transformational events have been popping up around the world at a dizzying level. Pluto in a Trine with the North Node is helping us put all the deep changes we are moving through directly into the path of our forward movement. Next year is going to be a wild ride, and everything we have been going through since eclipse season has been helping prepare us at the individual level to meet what is coming.
But never forget that it is all a game of perception. That your life is a direct reflection of how you are perceiving it is not just a platitude, it’s a law. Full stop. I am fond of saying you cannot control the first thought you have. But you can stop the second one. In fact, there are only two things you can control in this consciousness; your thinking, and your reactions to that which occurs. And of course, a disciplined mind that spends less time in limiting thoughts will automatically enjoy less reactivity to unwanted outside input. This Full Moon is all about that.
