The Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse is exact this morning at 3:37am PST. The Sun is near the North Node, so this is a forward looking eclipse. We are oriented toward the future and where we are going, but with the Sun in Pisces, our conscious awareness can’t rely on the way we typically perceive the world around us. There is no thinking mind in the deep underwater mansion that is the final sign of the zodiac. Pisces is pure potential, and so it contains every possibility, like particles zinging around inner space that have not yet differentiated into mass. That requires observation: when a particle that exists everywhere all at once is observed, it snaps into form at the point of observation. This is how the mind creates what we call reality.
Something extraordinary began last year. When outer planets change signs, it reflects big changes on Earth, as Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto’s movement reflect our institutional consciousness. All three of them doing it at the same time is wildly unprecedented and rare. It marks a moment of outrageous disruption and change that is going down to the molecular level. Saturn is a social planet and directly reflects all of us in bodies moving around making up the collective as we go. It is Saturn’s participation that is bringing the change right to our front doors, and because Saturn is the Teacher, it’s been hard AF.
The planets splash and gather in their movement over time, organically bunching up in one area of the solar system, and then slowly spreading out again. So this coming together of the personal planets is natural, but the timing of their meetup and the speed at which the fastest of them was slowing down to go retrograde, allowed them to stay close together in unprecedented way.
The personal planets reflect us in bodies. Mercury governs the mental body. Venus rules the emotional body. Mars directs the physical plane. The ongoing dance between the Sun and Moon reflects the spiritual body. As they move, we move. The simultaneous transits of all four over the last six months have made this period just as personally transformative as the upheaval unfolding in the outer world. We are different now, body, heart, mind, and soul.
This healing eclipse, ruled by Mercury and Chiron, opens the unconscious because all aspects of our embodied self are still gathered in Pisces, the sign that invented the unconscious mind. Pisces governs the endless flow of consciousness itself, while Virgo distributes that flow through the body with precision. We are healing our voices and perceptions so Mercury’s domain, the thinking mind, can function more clearly in a world shaped by what is mysterious and unknowable. Under Chiron’s rulership, mastery comes from learning to work consciously with the unconscious, making this eclipse another psychic surgery.
Venus will be the first to break from this traveling stelium when she enters fiery Aries in three days, testing our ability to remain loving in the face of unloving experiences. Venus in Pisces has gathered gallons of compassion, and this eclipse helps us access that empathy before she moves into the least empathic sign of the zodiac. Being triggered without losing your tether to love is a hard-won skill. The more you can live in the world but not of it, the more grace you will be able to carry.
Jupiter is standing still in his exalted place in Cancer. He is retrograde now but will turn direct in a week. When a planet stations, its power intensifies. Turned inward, Jupiter’s abundance is being imprinted on our unconscious through this eclipse. When he moves forward, he will carry our dreams and vision for the future with him, expanding whatever you are focusing on now. The entire Pisces stelium is also in a Sextile with Uranus, with Venus making the most direct connection, and this is fabulous for us at the personal level. This is a transit of dynamic creativity, but it’s only available if you engage with it, as Sextiles require action. Remember this after reading the whole post, because it is easy to lose sight of the creative power of the moment when distracted by outer chaos. We can do both, steward the revolution and up-level our individual lives at the same time.
Just as Venus struggles in Aries, Mercury is equally debilitated in Pisces, where clarity is simply not available. Because of this retrograde, he remains in Pisces for over nine weeks instead of the usual two and a half, so expect revisions and delays. Plans may take longer than you prefer. But just as Venus teaches us to remain loving when it is difficult, Mercury is in bootcamp learning how to function without needing to know what is happening in any given moment. The phrase I have been using is moving by feel. When the heart ignites in Aries fire while the mind is still floating in the deep end, both lessons will be front and center.
This is the last eclipse season with the North Node in Pisces. When the Nodes entered this axis at the beginning of 2025, I began urging you to put your spiritual practice first if you wanted to navigate the chaos ahead. You can see now I wasn’t exaggerating. There is tremendous creative potential this year at the personal level, but it requires new skills, best reflected by what Mercury and Venus are modeling. Mars in Pisces and Neptune in Aries are in mutual reception through April’s New Moon, each speaking the other’s language. Mars connects the body to collective compassion, while Neptune infuses action with grace. This is the full picture of how the personal planets are helping us get into a more perfect alignment with self, with others, and with the collective.
What looks chaotic and destructive on the world stage is also the raw material in your own life. The same forces dismantling old structures are helping you dismantle inner limitations and resistance to your own magnificence. If you stay engaged with your practice, if you choose love when it would be easier to fight, if you move by feel when certainty is unavailable, you will not just survive this period, you might just thrive. Personal transformation is not separate from collective healing. Every time you quiet the wars between your head and your heart, you impact the external ones. Your personal transformation and the revolution is happening at the same time. Have at it!
